4 MAIN EXCUSES I HEAR NOT TO HAVE A BOUDOIR SESSION
All Images used with permission
Let’s face it, a Toronto boudoir session can for most women sound very intimidating. Come on, it’s not every day you wake up and then strip down to your lingerie (or less) and jump in front of a camera. Now I know that may sound really hard to do but I promise you that an intimate photography session is so much easier than you think. Well, it is if you have a great pose/expression coach like me. I’ll make you the same promise I make to every one of my clients and that is all you have to do is take my direction. You don’t need to know anything about posing or what expression to use. That’s my job. All you need to do is play along and I promise you’ll love the results! But let’s talk about the other excuses I’ve heard from women after doing this for a number of years and why they can’t do a shoot like this. Incidentally, their excuses were total bullshit.
I need to loose 10, 20, 30 Pounds
No, you don’t. Honey, a few pounds isn’t going to make a bit of difference in your photo series. I will pose you in such amazing ways that you’ll think I’m the only photographer in the world with a camera that takes off 20 pounds instead of adding it. One thing I will say is that if you want to use a boudoir session as the catalyst for a healthier lifestyle and weight loss and the boudoir session becomes the reward, then that’s great! Never think that you have to look a certain way or be a certain weight to rock a boudoir session. Everyone is beautiful exactly as they are and that means you too!
I don’t have a boyfriend or husband
Yea so? Why the hell do you need to do this for them? Do it for you, and if they are nice, show them the images. How about dem apples huh?… Listen, I have a lot of customers that come in for a session because they want to get their partner a unique and intimate gift and that’s great. When it’s all over, they realize that the gift of self-acceptance and a new found sexiness is the gift they receive. So do it for you! My most memorable clients have been the ones that came in because this was something they did 100% for them. They were the ones who left most changed by this experience and gave me the biggest bear hugs when they picked up their finished products.
I don’t look like I did when I was in my 20’s
Youth does not equate to beauty. I want to show you how amazing you look right now. I’ve photographed clients from women in their 20’s to women in the 60’s. You know what the interesting thing everyone said was?… “I wish I had done this sooner.” So in a nutshell, that means that the ladies in their 30’s wished they had done it in their 20’s and the ladies in their 40’s in their 30’s and so on. My point being, you’re not getting any younger so why wait? The whole point of boudoir is to love yourself exactly as you are and whatever age you are! Your body changes, and that’s ok. You still look gorgeous!
I’m super awkward in pictures
Really?… I haven’t heard that 1000 times before from all sorts of people. Like I mentioned above, the reason people love shooting with me is because I’m really amazing at getting you to open up and show the right emotion in the images. Everyone who says they are awkward in photos seems to almost magically not be that way in my studio. Maybe it’s just because you’re wearing too much in the other photos you take. Tee Hee… Just kidding. The real reason is that if you’ve never been coached when in front of the camera and it’s hard to look natural when you don’t know what you’re doing. That’s where I come in. I’m going to make it so easy that by the end of the session, you WILL be freestyling poses and rocking them like you were a model. I’ve never had a client that I couldn’t create an amazing series with. So I challenge you to come in for a session and prove me wrong and that you are super awkward. I promise that this is one time you’ll be completely ok with being wrong because the experience will be so amazing!
