THE MOST COMMON BOUDOIR QUESTIONS
The thought of a boudoir session can be scary and slightly intimidating. You’ probably are thinking will I look as good as the women on the site? Am I sexy enough? Can I even do this? The answer is an unquestionable YES YOU CAN! But I wanted to compile a list of 12 of the most frequently asked questions I get to provide you with some insight on preparing for a boudoir experience with me.
DO YOU SHARE MY IMAGES?
My number one priority is making sure my clients are comfortable, especially with a boudoir session. It can be a life-changing experience, but that also makes it nerve-racking! In rare instances, I may use shots from your session that are completely anonymous meaning your face and any identifying marks such as tattoos or both marks would be removed. And although pretty much everyone is ok with usage like that, it all depends on your personal preferences. If you’d like no images to be used from your session, all you have to do is ask. Any images you see on my site where you can see a person’s face, that person has given permission for me to use that image.
DO I HAVE TO WEAR LINGERIE?
You don’t have to wear lingerie specifically. It all depends on your personality! There’s so many other options to choose from in a boudoir sessions that aren’t lacey and frilly. You could wear a sports jersey, dress shirt or nothing at all. It’s entirely up to you. I also provide wardrobe consult calls before every session and with a video chat we’ll determine the right wardrobe for you. So not to worry, I’ve got you covered.
DO YOU HAVE PAYMENT PLANS?
I offer a few different payment options. You can pay in full on the day of your session after we review your images. You can pay half at your image viewing and the other half when you pick up your products about 3 weeks later. Finally I have a 60 payment plan that allows you to make 3 payments over 60 days. The first will be at the viewing, the next will be in 30 days and finally the last payment will be made 60 days after your image viewing. Please note that with the 60 day payment plan you will not get your finished products until the end of the 60 days.
IS HAIR AND MAKEUP INCLUDED?
Hair and make up is included in all of our boudoir shoots. I think it’s really important for you to feel pampered, and having your hair and make up done it’s a great way to do that. My amazing team can help you complete your look, whether that’s “I just woke up like this”, or full on glam! You can bring any ideas you want for your make up and we can use it for inspiration.
DO YOU RETOUCH MY IMAGES?
I edit all images for brightness, colour balance and to give them my signature look but when it comes to changing how you look, that requires a little more guidance on your part. I don’t edit out anything permanent such as stretch marks, scars etc… unless you request it. My philosophy is that it’s your body and it’s not my place to decide what should be included or not included. All you ever have to do is ask and I can make it happen.
WHERE SHOULD I BUY MY OUTFITS?
There are many places to go buy lingerie and it depends on the style you want. Catch of course the most common places would be Victoria’s Secret, LaSenza, La Vie En Rose. But there are also a number of other great independent lingerie retailers in Toronto for you to check out.
WHAT TYPE OF FINISHED PRODUCTS DO YOU OFFER?
I offer a variety of finish product options. The style really depends on you and your tastes. I offer a variety of finished product options. My favourite of course are my luxurious albums that come in their own presentation boxes. My Glam Boxes are also incredibly popular with their individual matted prints in their housing box. Finally the best way to show off your boudoir experience is with wall art. When you see the image on the wall, you’ll be reminded of how beautiful you are and how great you felt during your session.
DO YOU OFFER JUST DIGITAL FILES?
As a fine art photographer, I sell beautifully finished products that have a permanence that digitals just don’t have. That’s why I don’t have any collections that only have digital images. Keep in mind that when you buy a finished product you get the corresponding digital images. So for example if you purchased a 15 image album, you would get the 15 images from the album as digital files but more importantly you’ll get an album you can touch and feel.
I’M FREAKING OUT, HOW CAN I CALM MY NERVES?
Being nervous coming into a session is completely normal. Part of the whole experience and why is so rewarding at the end is because of those nerves. All you have to do is show up and my hair and makeup team will have a great chat with you as you sip on a glass of champagne. an hour of pampering will go a long way to making you feel relaxed. After hair and makeup is done, you have only one job. Listen to me. If you can take me direction, I promise I’ll make you look awesome-r than you already are. The one things all of my clients say after their session is how easy it actually is. You may not believe me now, but after your session you can tell me I was right.
HOW MANY OUTFITS DO I BRING?
We’re going to shoot 2-3 outfits at your session. We’re also going to plan out those outfits ahead of time at your wardrobe consult call a few days in advance of your session.
WHERE IS YOUR STUDIO LOCATED?
I’m located just outside the downtown Toronto core near Queen Street And Broadview. I’m in a 100 year old factory building perfect for a boudoir photo studio.
