Does It Matter What Your Measurements Are?Confronting Body ImageSpoiler Alert... NOPE
Boudoir photography has become increasingly popular over the years, and for good reason. It’s an experience centred around self love and body acceptance but so many women feel that they have to be of a certain body type to do a session like this. I can’t stress how far that is from the truth and that doing a boudoir session at our Toronto studio will give you a new found connection to the skin you’re in and silence that voince that say you have to compare to others.
As a photographer who specializes in boudoir photography, I often hear from clients who are apprehensive about booking a session because they believe they are curvier than will look good on camera. They worry that they won’t look as good as the models they see on my website or on social media, and that their insecurities will be magnified in front of the camera. It’s totally OK to think that but hold on…
But here’s the truth: every body is beautiful, regardless of shape or size. As a photographer, my job is to capture the beauty of my clients, and that includes highlighting their unique features and creating an environment where they feel comfortable and confident. I want my clients to leave their session feeling empowered and proud of their bodies, no matter what size they may be.
It’s important to remember that boudoir photography is not about conforming to a certain standard of beauty or perfection. It’s about celebrating your individuality and embracing your body exactly as it is. In fact, many of my most stunning boudoir images have been captured with clients who were not the stereotypical model size. I really believe that in a 90 minute session I can not only crate images of you that you or your partner will be awed by but we’re going to have so much fun doing it that you’ll wonder why you didn’t do this sooner.
To help alleviate any anxiety my clients may have about their bodies, I make sure to have open and honest communication with them before the session and help them with the right wardrobe choices. Because there are no bad bodies there are just bad clothing choices. On the pre-shoot wardrobe call we’ll discuss their insecurities and any areas they may want to highlight or conceal and make sure that we have the 3-4 best outfit choices so you look fabulous.
During the session, I have you covered and this whole experience is going to way easier than it may seem. It all starts with the Hollywood You makeover where one of my stylists is going to gamify you and give you a little boost to be in front of the camera. During the shoot i’m going to give you all the direction with regards to posing and expression you need to make the whole process easy.
Ultimately, boudoir photography is about feeling confident, sexy, and empowered. It’s a celebration of your unique beauty, and it’s a reminder that you are perfect exactly as you are. So if you’re considering booking a boudoir session but are hesitant because of your figure, know that you are not alone. As a boudoir photographer, I am here to support and empower you every step of the way.
